The feelings which my art intends to evoke in the viewer are mapped out before the actual moment of commencement of the painting.  As the work gradually progresses, and as the living figure is transposed on to the canvas and transformed into a cultural artefact of my own creation, my feelings take on a more specific and tangible cast.
